It seems that my sacrifice to the Goddess Isis (shin deep wading through Thames floods on Monday's run) was acceptable to the River and the flooding went down enough for our weights class to take place at the usual spot.

As per usual at this time in the semester, the weekend emerges out of the sea of exhaustion as a place to crawl up onto and rest a while. Less rest than usual this weekend tho as we've a flat inspection next week. Grr. So unfair. I hate renting.

Hearing that Tumblr might be fading away so waking this back up again. Might do no more than lurk.

This weekend I played a role playing thing. My first. In the process of which I made a giant whirling tornado to scoop up rabid sheep that were on fire, added gravel to the mix to pebbledash them into shreds and then threw them at an attacking bullmonster.

Start as you mean to go on, I say.

Morning folks.
In an aim to be able to get up early this week to swim or cycle before work (different days - I'm not THAT energetic!) I've been getting up at 5:30 this weekend (it's only half an hour earlier than usual, not too much of a shock to the system). Yesterday it worked out OK, I got to head out on my long training ride nice and early before there was any traffic. And the sun is up then, so I'm enjoying lovely bright morning.
But today is a rest day so I've been up for two and a half hours, I've had breakfast, I've tidied the front room, I've weeded half the back yard and I'm just settling down to coffee and toast before starting the actual "day" part of the day. And it's only just coming up to 8am.

*sigh*

The cycle ride was good yesterday tho. 35 miles, lots of lovely back country lanes through the flat bit of Wharfedale (v rich agricultural bit, excellent hedges, good grass). The hills were AWFUL. I had to get off and breathe 3 times going up the East Chevin Road. It's a 12% and my legs are NOT strong enough for that yet. Feels OK now tho. Good recovery. Good legs.

Spoiler - actually not.

Got home from work and the neighbours informed me that the rozzers had been hammering on my door. Ooh. Not great. But not horrendous (back story - a policewoman came round a few weeks ago looking for someone who doesn't live here).

So I checked all the family were in good health and then called the police on the non emergency number to see what they had wanted. I was on hold fora wee while (got through a good chuck of my strengthening exercises with them on speaker).

Anyway. Yes. Turns out it is probably someone else who lived here before, they have my phone number on file now if they want to talk to me. Saves them banging down the door again and worrying the nice people next door.

It's halfway through April and it's still bloody freezing. Yesterday I rejoiced because it was only drizzling for the commute. Rejoiced at drizzle! I mean. Really.

In continuing news no-one probably cares about, shin splints hurt like buggery but stationary bike cycling is possible. Paying down debt gives one a warm fuzzy feeling, but not much spare cash to throw around. And weekends remain awesome.

Toodally pip...

Woke up about 10 to Nine (tired TH was overtired) and flicked on the radio to check the last bit of the news/weather.

They were talking about Osama Bin Laden.

Not quite sure I'm awake enough yet to process this fact. But kinda feel the need to make a note that I did hear it and it DID happen.
