Thanks be to BigSis for keeping it on her Sky+ box for me.
Thoughts
Ok. Point the first. It was close enough to the book that I can't complain. I really can't. In fact well done the scriptwriters and that. Could have been a lot worse (see Colour of Magic).
Vetinari was awesome (even though he was blond and that's gotta be good acting). Adora was awesome. Moist was... Moist. Such a lovely smile. And their interaction sparked like it was supposed to. Definitely 9/10 over all.
However, there were things. Just a few things.
I think it's because you read the book from different angles. I wanted more of John. Or differently somehow. I dunno. It could have just been because I was convalescent and had the melancholy. There wasn't his name on the wires, and less of him in the words of the dead at the end. All the words were there, but if I were directing (yeah right) I think I would have put some of the emphasis in different places.
But that's a personal opinion. It was well made and I am grateful for it.
Minor Gripes
I wasn't all that admiring of Reacher Gilt. I don't know. I didn't think of him like that. And that was not my Drumknott.
Angua confused me. I got used to her towards the end but at the beginning I wasn't sure. Mind you, I've seen an Angua drawn precisely from the text and still thought her wrong so obviously I just skip over the description whenever it crops up.
And one can't complain about the letters/not the letter sorter and all the deaths being allocated to that bloody banshee.
AND TOP GEAR IS BACK!!!! How Awesome?!!!
