It's STILL raining!

I almost said "Buon giorno" to a woman sweeping out the foyer of the posh hotel on the way to the train this morning. I miss Italy.

In other news it was still manic at work and I played "hunt the non-existent invoice" most of the afternoon.

I miss Italy.

ETA: Glee was back to being awesome this week and Didactylos has booked us tickets to Noel Coward on Friday as there's nothing in the Cinemas. So far a good week then. I still miss Italy.

Do you speak Italian then, or just holiday Italian? (Kinda like my holiday Greek - ancient i can do. Modern i can order a salad and a coffee. And say thanks. What else do you need?)

When i come to England, we will have to have a weekend in Italy as a side trip. All Treehuggers invited. :D

Holiday Italian only. I have fond memories of an evening we spent in a tiny local bar in Venice with a mate's holiday Italian and my vocab built from the musical directions you get in Italian orchestral scores. FORTE! etc. *grin*

I would press for a weekend in Paris (I'll introduce you to my Parisian friends). Italy deserves a week and I'll have to drag you and herself away from your Scottish studies for that.

Weekend in Paris we can defintely do. Do you speak French, in that case? Because sadly, mine is limited to please, thankyou, and a phrase about a red rabbit at the beach. It rhymes. :D

I am better in French than Italian. Speaking is hard, but I can do reading and I'm quite confident wandering around Paris as long as I only have to say Oui and Merci in a polite manner. Anyway my Parisian mate does all the talking (and loves CSI and LOTR so ya know - first French geek I ever met).

Lovely. Is this Parisian geek likely to offer us free accomodation on their floor? Cos i'm all in for that! Paris is pricey. ;)

We might have to kip at her parents but yeah - she's hospitable (she would lend us floor but the baby will be born by then (BABY!) so they'll be short on space in the apartment.
